February Rankings n' Things

Here we are at the start of March. Two months worth of banter, bitching, and most importantly matches. We've had a couple new additions to start the new year. First off was Kelly, The Big Sombrero. (Update: He Gone)

He came dancing into the league, putting up a fight against the Goodman Boys and taking down the other new addition DVC. The one win immediately got him moved up the rankings. Maybe a little early year bias, but hes off to a hot start.

Next, we gained DVC. Short for Bitch Boy. I can technically write whatever I want here because 1. This is my blog 2. He's my older brother and 3. i took care of business in his first ever FL weekend. Truth be told DVC probably owns a 80% win percentage over me (JVC). Most of these wins however came at our own 'Friendly Confines' Pendleton Country Club. DVC has already been a mainstay in the weekly birdie games, and will soon move his way up the rankings.

Just today as a write we have added our newest member Ryan Anderson. What he will bring to the league is yet to be seen. However, he has promised to take the crown. We will hold him to that. A entry into this week's 'gangbang' has him into the wagering spirit, and looks to be a strong add.

We've already had quite a few matchups this year.At this point in 2017 we had 2 matches recorded. To date we are at 9. Just goes to show the dedication from the club to find matches...unless your Captain and have to go home to a 'sick wife'.

There has been an interesting menage a trios between Poseidon, BG and Captain. Multiple matchups have caused a stir in the rankings, and for a moment had split up HB. However, like Ronnie and Sam from Jersey Shore, they always end up back together.

Here you go boys...let the debates begin.

Rank - Name (Prev Rank)

1. - Alpha (1)

A big opening round loss at the start of the year, had the committee thinking of taking away the top spot. However, a follow up win against 2 and 3 in Vegas baby has him holding onto the top spot. Challengers will be coming this year, FL is out for blood.

2. - JMACK (3)

Big Cat moves back up to the 2 spot. Honestly, JMACK and Bogey are hard to figure. Bogey has a much better record against Alpha, but JMACK has a 12-2 record over Bogey.

3. - Bogey (2)

Dropped from 2 to 3 with a loss to big bro in Vegas. His best bet might be to go on a mid summer run of beating little bro 2-4x in a row and jump from 3 to Alpha.

4 - JVC (4)

Been hanging in there since Arya's Wine Mixer last summer. However, with 6-8 real challengers for the spot, this may be the most difficult spot to hold. Just ask Poseidon, Captain, BG, and so on.

5. - Poseidon (7)

The big jump for the Sea God. He already has a 3-0 record against HB in 2018, an egg he had yet to crack. He also called his shot. Tough call to move him above Captain, but Caps MIA appearance at Arroyo pushed the committee over the edge.

6. - Captain (5)

Read above ^^ He had one bad loss to PoPo. But turned around and handled Darth a couple times to hold his ranking above fellow LAF founder.

7. - BG/Darth/Smylie (6)

The committee was generous. After a falling out with FL, he was removed from the website and deleted from the rankings. He actually caused a Bill of Rights to be created. Upon re-entry it was discussed if he would be placed at the bottom of the rankings. Yet to his surprise arch-rival JVC came to his aid...BEFORE their Wednesday morning battle.

8. - Ricky - (8)

Not much change here. Neck deep in snow. Driving to a Portland Circuit Matchup on the 10th. Risky move to catch those fuckers in their own habitat. JVC fell in similar conditions last year.

9. Mitchies - (9)

Some volatile stock here. I believe he will either gain 4 spots or drop 4 spots this year. With a kid on the way anything is possible. The committee will be looking for some strong wins away from the Shire. If that happens, panties will be dropped by the tanks worn.

10. - Jim Rock (10)

Could this be the year of the Shetland? Only time will tell. An early matchup on 3/10 may prove pivotal to Jeeeems ranking. An 8,11,13,14 matchup on the Portland Circuit will have major implications on March Rankings.

11 - Andy - (12)

We know one person who will not be happy with this ranking movement, it rhymes with petty. However, an early season 1 stroke showdown with the Rock was enough to push him up one spot.

12 - Yeti (11)

Secret swing changes have been in the works for months. Hundreds of thousands of wiffle balls have been hit in Grammies side yard. She has had to call in a professional landscaper to reseed. The new swing and mental approach will be released next weekend.

13 - Fergie (13)

Just got off the phone with the Ferg man. He has said he will make his first apperance of 2018 at the Portland Circuit Invitational - Stone Creek. Still a somewhat unknown with a major lack of rounds, he will be a wildcard in the Par-game.

14 - Fluff - (14)

Course Closed - Inclement Weather

15 - DVC (15)

He almost had his first FL win against JVC at Bandon Trails. Up 2 strokes heading into the short Par 4 18th, he topped his tee ball which magically rolled thru US Open fescue on the fairway. He proceeded to slice a ball into the greenside weeds. A chip out had him lying 3, 12 feet from his first FL victory. JVC bladed an 8-iron out of a fairway bunker and 2-putted his way to par. DVC feeling the full nerves of his first look at an FL win, hit his 12 foot putt 5 feet past the hole. Hands shaking, sweat beading, nuts tingling, he pushed his winning put for a final hole double box 6. Still Winless.

16 - RA (16)

Newest members go to the bottom. However, rumors have swirled he may be the new alpha before fluff wakes from hibernation. Only time will tell. FL does funny things to a mans body.

Thats all we have for the February rankings. If you hate em, write your congressman. Until next time, if you are feeling 'ganged up on' or 'bullied' don't feel Brettdowned, you're not the only one.
